Consumer prices rose.
At this point, it’s a line we’re so used to seeing that it doesn’t really surprise us anymore.
News released on Wednesday showed that the persistent inflation that we’ve been witnessing heated up to 3.7% annually last month, higher than the expected 3.6%. Gas, of course, was one of the biggest contributors, with prices jumping 9.1% month-over-month. You’ll see this ripple out into other areas of the economy, as that fuel is also used to move the things that are put on store shelves.
Then there was the cost of oil used in homes, which rose just over 15% month-to-month. This is especially something to pay attention to as the conflict in Iran seems to have no resolution in sight and large parts of the country are going to be bracing for the cold bite of winter in the coming months.
So while consumers all over will have to stretch their household budgets that much more, traders will be watching the Fed.
Just after the last meeting, the likelihood of further rate hikes was uncertain, with some thinking the decision was going to lean toward a pause rather than another hike. Now, with this latest inflation news, chances between a pause and a hike seem to be evenly split.
Of course, the market reacted and is taking this all in.
There was a market-wide selloff that coincided with the dollar rising to 18-month highs immediately following the news. Those trends reversed somewhat as traders focused on movement in the tech sector, but that doesn’t take away from the fact that all eyes will now be on the Fed as the market braces for the very real possibility of “higher for longer” inflation.
And that’s the kind of catalyst that will have traders devoting more time to finding ways to protect their wealth as that persistent volatility continues to loom over the market and erode the wealth of anyone who isn’t prepared to withstand it.
It’s why you’ll see gold and silver continue the pattern of back-and-forth pricing they’ve been experiencing lately.
If you only look at year-to-date prices for either, it’s easy to say that they are in a bear market, but if you look at a longer timeline, the value of either metal is much, much higher than ever. Those recent lows they’re experiencing were once the highs, and the trend dictates that higher highs are likely to follow.
We’ve been seeing this kind of behavior amid Treasury yield vulnerability and periods of US dollar weakness. As long as the factors that encourage these kinds of things remain in play, gold and silver are where the traders will continue to seek shelter.
And that isn’t the only place they’re likely to find it in the near term.
Like gold and silver, many other commodities are seeing price declines in the face of market pressures.
Like gold and silver, this is temporary pain on the way to long-term profit. We’ve been seeing downward trends in industrial commodities such as lithium as market pressures continue to test investors’ willingness to stay in the game. Some get scared, sell, and look for other places to make a profit while some stay and take advantage of the opportunity this opens up.
They see prices falling while ignoring the long-term demand many of these commodities face, especially as supplies around the world tighten and nations scramble to stockpile whatever they can get a hold of.
When it comes to the companies capable of pulling these minerals out of the ground, many traders only see the depressed prices they trade at today, ignoring what these companies are truly worth.
That’s where you can make your profit.
The economic pressures that are causing these companies to continue facing headwinds are expected to last for at least the next few months, opening the door for you to position for profits when things turn around.
One company in particular has the assets and management to be a big winner not just from gold’s coming resurgence, but from the rising demand that a lot of industrial-use metals are facing.
That’s because the property it owns, right here in the US, is on private ground and already has the government’s attention because of the critical metals buried there as well as the gold.
Its story is one a lot of traders simply don’t know, but one that’s going to be impossible to ignore before long.
You can learn all of the details as well as how to get in and secure your profit well before the crowd does in this brand-new report.
It could happen sooner than anyone realizes, so you don’t want to waste any time.
